The Department of Analytical Chemistry is one of the distinguished departments in the Faculty of Pharmacy, where the basic concepts of chemical analysis and advanced applications in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing are taught.

The department offers postgraduate degrees (Master's and PhD) in the field of pharmaceutical analytical chemistry. The research of students in the department is closely related to quality control in the pharmaceutical industries in order to find solutions to real problems at the local and international levels.

At the undergraduate level, the department prepares and trains students of the Faculty of Pharmacy to perform the tasks of pharmaceutical analysis and quality control, as well as the ability to develop analytical methods and judge their suitability and compliance with standard criteria.

This is done through many activities throughout the year in addition to the usual teaching methods through lectures and practical training. The activities include the student in groups conducting research to discuss concepts and theories that explain phenomena from daily life and related to what was taught, and conducting field visits to quality control departments in pharmaceutical companies and drinking water stations, as well as awareness activities to serve the community.

 The department is keen to develop the student's skills in communication and continuous education, which adds a competitive advantage at the regional and international levels.
