Department's Head's Speech
The Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry aims to graduate specialized professionals who are capable of competing in the job market through their work as chemical researchers specializing in the synthesis of organic compounds for the preparation of pharmaceutical compounds. This enables them to meet the technical needs of institutions that provide pharmaceutical products, as well as factories involved in the manufacturing and production of drugs and ensuring product quality. Additionally, it meets the service needs in the field of teaching within the Ministry of Higher Education. The department also equips graduates with the foundations of knowledge and skills according to academic standards, with a full awareness of societal and environmental issues and professional ethics.
The department's mission extends to motivating graduates to engage in continuous learning within their specialty and offering master's and doctoral programs. Furthermore, the department contributes to enriching specialized applied scientific research and participating in community service through consultations, educational programs, awareness campaigns, and training courses.
The program is designed to prepare graduates capable of competing in the local, regional, and international job markets in the fields of medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry. The program aims to develop the graduate's professional, academic, and research skills, as well as the ability for continuous learning and development. This is achieved by following specialized scientific, technical, and research principles. The program also seeks to enhance research capabilities, scientific and practical thinking, and continuous development in the field of advanced methods for preparing pharmaceutical and medicinal compounds, as well as chemical identification and composition techniques for newly developed compounds, using modern scientific technologies.
This is done by completing specialized and up-to-date academic courses, conducting comprehensive academic and applied research, and publishing it academically in a comprehensive scientific thesis.
